As Shamontiel pointed out, it is quite possible that sexism could have played a role in their urgency to help you out. But it also could have been a situation in which other people have already reported having problems with her; or at least that’s been my experience. I was honestly shocked when I started my new job and had to address something to my supervisor, and he actually took action on it. When I first started my supervisor explained: “My job is essentially to make sure you have enough work, but also to make sure they don’t overload you especially with things that aren’t priority”. I do find it sad that I was actually shocked, much like you were, that he actually meant it.

I’ve encountered a few people like this in the work place, and they’re kind of the reason why I became fluent in ‘Corporate Speak’. The passive-aggressive belittling was very unnecessary; it’s like the only reason she was even saying that she’d be “glad to help” is because she included the higher-ups in the email and make herself look good. I find the longer I’m in the workplace, the more I’m starting to see that a lot of people just act like children.

Great read; I’m loving this series!
