Clinginess and separation anxiety are main reason why I was so hesitant for us to get a dog during quarantine. I didn't want thing to go awry when I have to go back to the office in the fall. But I've been looking up ways to practice some separation even though I work from home. Crate training has been pretty helpful in this process too. Right now our puppy is still pretty new, so I definitely don't want to overdue it (I mean, he had 9 litter mates and his mom around; it's not like he would have experience being alone). I definitely don't want to deprive him of affection, but I also want him to understand that alone/rest time is something to look forward to
