Hey, 5'0 here!

I find that being ‘cute’ for me is dependent on context. I mean, I’ll admit, at my height and stature with big chipmunk cheeks: I’m quite adorable. There’s just no getting around that.

However, there’s definitely a time and a place for everything. My bf (6'5) has a tendency to dote on me and call me adorable — all perfectly fine in the right context. One thing that I’ve had to correct him on are things like “My cute little writer”, “My cute working woman”, etc. I’m like hooooold up, we’re not gonna call my profession ‘cute’. I still want to be taken seriously as a professional.

Especially in the professional space, it’s more about wanting to be taken seriously. Frankly, it’s just unprofessional to treat me differently than another coworker just because I’m small and “cute”. I’m still around the same age, I’m still doing my work very well, and I still should be taken seriously.
