I commend you for sticking things out as long as you did. Being a teacher or professor is hard enough, but having the added bigoted rhetoric that you encountered on a daily basis had to be truly exhausting. I feel like people who are in these positions tend to feel a larger sense of responsibility for the matter; even so, I’m glad that you were able to leave that environment for the good of your health.
