I know this part sticks out to me because I feel like a lot of us have convinced ourselves that there's 'no point' in documenting our grievances or sharing these experiences with HR. I think--other than the work being kind of annoying--I used to worry about being labeled as "difficult". As you highlighted in your story, Black women have to go through so many hoops to be seen as equal and worthy in the workplace. I can't be introverted but I also can't be "loud". I have to be professional but I have to also make sure I'm not "cold". At one point, documenting instances of emotional manipulation and communication sounded like additional work but I'm so glad it's something that I started doing.
