I will never forget the disgust I felt when I was at the sink brushing my teeth (shared restroom in my Freshman dorm) and literally witnessed one of the girls come out of the stall after defecating, walked right past me, and left the bathroom. I was in complete shock. The fact that she shamelessly just left without washing her hands even with someone present lets me know that this was habitual for her. She didn’t even think about it.

The media attention around the outbreak is definitely frustrating, mainly because people seem to want to do everything except the simple tasks: wash your damn hands, don’t cough into the air (wtf), don’t touch your face, sanitize, and wipe down items. The fact that I was seeing news about stores running out of toilet paper — because somehow hoarding a year’s worth of toilet paper is going to help — is just irritating. Why are people going out of their way to be nasty?

Thanks for sharing; I hope people get it through their heads that washing your hands shouldn’t be optional.
