Thank you for sharing this account, as I think it’s very important that people need to pay attention to their bodies. I’m very glad that in this woman’s case, things were mild and she is able to recover just fine.

I know that the ‘Black people can’t get it’ memes were around, but I didn’t think people were taking them seriously until maybe a week ago. As this is a new virus, I think doctors aren’t anticipating some of the ‘not-so-common’ symptoms that some people have. There was another story in which the doctor originally believed the patient had sinus issues, this person also didn’t start out having a fever.

While I don’t think we have to feed into the ‘panic’ mentality, stories like this should definitely wake people up to just how similar the symptoms are to other illnesses.
