Thank you very much for sharing your story; sometimes people need reminding about how far we’ve come but also how far we still have to go. My family knows about my interest in traveling overseas, and their number one concern is how I’m going to be treated as a Black American. It most definitely won’t stop me, but their reasoning is most certainly valid. Even so, I love seeing Black folks traveling, experiencing, and seeing the world no matter what other people feel about it. Great read!
