It’s been very interesting how society has shifted when it comes to the overall perspective on political correctness and how it ties in with how we associate. I think there is definitely a difference between being politically correct, being overly conscious, and just being flat out disrespectful. As society shifts, we have to acknowledge that some things change and evolve over time. ‘Delirious’ from Eddie Murphy is an iconic standup special, but specific to its time. There’s no way he could get away with a lot of those jokes today.

I can’t say I completely agree with Cancel Culture, not because I don’t get the sentiment but because I don’t believe it truly works or has an impact. I may personally cancel someone for myself (aka I don’t invest in them, listen to their music, support them, etc) but as long as that person has a strong fan base or following then there is no true repercussion.
