I guess being in the corporate arena, I’ve basically learned to keep expectations low. It’s one of the reasons why I’m working to leave it altogether.
Even though it’s still a wonder why some people feel the need to act so fake/nasty/catty at work is because of how much importance they put on that position. The weirdest conversation I’ve had was with someone who’s sole identity was centered around what she does for work. I’m all about loving what you do, but by no means should it be defining who you are. With that mindset, I feel like it’s easier to believe that you have to step all over people in order to get ahead and be bitter about other people’s success. It’s a mess.
