Thanks so much for sharing this; as an introvert who wears an extrovert mask throughout the day, this means a lot.
I remember reading a thread somewhere talking about how “Black girls can’t be introverts”. And I feel that it resonates with how people react to our introverted ways. When other people act in this way, people can usually just make the conclusion that they’re shy or not outgoing. However, I find that I was usually on the receiving end of “she’s got an attitude problem”, “she’s kinda rude”, “she never wants to talk to anyone”, etc. More awareness in regards to introvert personality types is more present, but I do feel like it could still use work. Introverts aren’t meant to be turned into extroverts, and we have our own great qualities to offer.
Great read!
