Thanks so much for sharing this Jen!

This point in particular I can’t emphasize enough. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of being in a relationship with someone for he sole purpose of not wanting to be single. More often than not, it just means that being single for a while may do you some good. Until recently, I haven’t been in a committed relationship in years. While yeah, I dated, people couldn’t figure out that I wasn’t necessarily fixated on finding a mate ASAP.

But I also hated the idea of being “too picky”. What I noticed is that this is usually a question that comes about more as we get older. As if to say: I wonder what’s taking them so long? Oh, I know, it’s because they’re expecting too much! It’s such a strange mindset; everyone has their own set of standards and I don’t like this idea that somehow my standards are just “too much”. I don’t hear them ever saying that to someone who’s 21.

Great read
