This is a huge thing that people still don’t seem to understand. I’m not interested in seeing a white woman pretending to be a black woman (aka blackphishing) nor am I interested in seeing someone wear a wig to mimic a hair texture they don’t have when it would have been a hell of a lot easier to find someone with said hair texture.

I remember a South Korean beauty company got met with some backlash when they released a promotional poster featuring a light hand and a dark (presumably Black woman’s) hand. The problem? They actually just painted the hand, Black. The entire hand, including the palm! There are definitely plenty of Black women working as models/actresses in SK (shoot, they could have easily made the trip to Itaewon). It just made them look extremely ignorant.
