This is such an important read, thanks for sharing! I’ve always heard something similar in the context of business negotiation: ‘Never sit down at a table with someone you’re not willing to walk away from’. We have a tendency to sell ourselves short out of worry that we’ll be “forever alone”. By doing this we sell ourselves short and settle because that’s what we believe we deserve. It’s a horrible cycle that I hope more people can get past so that they can have happy AND healthy relationships. Great read!
