This is such an interesting perspective and honestly something that I haven’t thought about before.

What’s great about this is that you both are in agreement that having you take on all of the emotional labor helps no one in this scenario. Doing that would just mean you get burnt out and he’s further enabled to not take on simple (or complex) responsibility for things. Marriage is a partnership and neither party should feel like they’re being the other person’s assistant.
